Surveillance Video Captures Horrific Execution-Style Killings in Brooklyn Apartment Building
In a tragic and horrifying incident in New York City, a disturbing dispute over loud music turned deadly when 47-year-old Jason Pass allegedly executed his neighbor, 47-year-old Bladimy Mathurin, and Mathurin's stepson, 27-year-old Chin Wai Mode. The incident was captured on surveillance video, which has since circulated on social media, shedding light on the harrowing events that unfolded in a Brooklyn apartment building at 1418 Brooklyn Avenue.
The chilling sequence of events began with Jason Pass, dressed in navy blue, ascending the stairs to confront his neighbor, Marie Delille, reportedly due to a dispute over loud noise. During the confrontation, Delille's husband, Bladimy Mathurin, and her two children joined her in the hallway. Mathurin, in a heated moment, brandished a pair of scissors and directed them toward Pass's face. Despite his wife's attempts to pull him back, Mathurin continued the confrontation. It was at this point that the situation took a gruesome turn.
Jason Pass pulled a gun from his waistband and pointed it at Mathurin, who began to retreat toward his apartment. Pass then fired his weapon, fatally shooting Mathurin, right in front of his wife and daughter, who fled back into their apartment in horror. Subsequently, Chin Wai Mode, Mathurin's stepson, attempted to escape by heading toward the stairs, but Pass gunned him down as well, firing multiple shots. Pass callously returned to Mathurin, who was still alive and attempting to move, and shot him at point-blank range on his doorstep.
The surveillance video captured Pass looking over the horrifying scene before calmly walking to the elevator. The aftermath revealed nine shell casings and several bullet fragments in the hallway, with both Mathurin and Mode having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Delille, who hails from Haiti, informed the police that the dispute between Mathurin and Pass had been ongoing for years, centered around noise complaints. She expressed disbelief at the violence, emphasizing that her husband and stepson were unarmed and had no weapons. She questioned the senseless use of a firearm to tear her family apart.
Reports from the NYPD indicated that Pass had previously made six 311 calls regarding noise complaints, as he resided below Mathurin in the apartment building. The ongoing feud escalated when Pass began banging on his ceiling, and Mathurin responded by banging on his floor. This confrontation ultimately led to Pass rushing upstairs and reportedly kicking Mathurin's door before the tragic murders occurred.
Marie Delille and her 10-year-old daughter were witnesses to the horrifying shootings. Bladimy Mathurin, who worked tirelessly with two jobs as a school bus driver during the day and an Uber driver by night, supported his family through his dedication and hard work.
